Upon their arrival at Collège Rivier, International students are paired with another student in their class. This student serves as a reference and a guide for the first weeks at school. This student is usually bilingual and is paired with the new student: in this way the student can accompany and guide the international student in all of his or her classes and help understand the instructions given.
At night, in the boarding school, the opportunity is ideal to mingle with students from other levels. This increases the opportunity to communicate and learn French.
During weekends, being with a host family or at the boarding school, enables students to become more familiar with Québec culture and experience certain activities that are common in our country. Discovering poutine, playing hockey, or enjoying maple taffy are some of the highlights that our international students may experience during the weekends.
